Whether prospective students are in zone or out of zone, the Chisnallwood Scheme is
designed to offer a place for all those who wish to enrol. This is your school.
Recently a group of 17 students, staff and parents travelled to Thailand to visit schools throughout
the north-east. The goal was for our students to learn more about the Thai culture and for them to
help in promoting a new scholarship offer. We were hosted by the Mayors of several Municipalities
and were treated to the best that each region had to offer.
The visit was extremely successful in not only helping to build stronger relationships between the
two countries, but also in providing the Chisnallwood students with an experience of a lifetime.
12 Thai students will now visit Christchurch and study in Chisnallwood Intermediate in October.
They come from approximately five different Municipalities and have been awarded scholarships
based on their English study and school work
Chisnallwood Intermediate continues to provide excellent international student education and
support as well as giving our local students a
grow in an increasingly borderless world.
The photos show our students thoroughly
enjoying themselves. Special thanks to our
parents for their support, Mr Everett and his
Mum and Ms Western for their work in making
Our school production Beauty is a Beas
was hugely successful and performed
to full houses on three nights. Involving
60 students in the cast, 34 in the schoo
orchestra and a further seven back stag
meant fantastic student participation
Not only this, but 19 staff mem
were also involved in various
roles. Thank you to all
involved and to Ms Eddington
who produced the show and
Ms Bell who coordinated the
music. The school acknowledges
Christchurch Earthquake Appeal
Trust for their financial contribution
which made the show possible.

As you cast your thoughts towards education opportunities for 2013 I am pleased to
be able to assure current and prospective parents that Chisnallwood remains as a
progressive and innovative provider of education for children in their Year 7 and 8 years.
2013 will undoubtedly be as busy and as successful as 2012 and will bring with it all the
opportunities that have become synonymous with the name Chisnallwood.
Throughout the recent challenges our school roll has remained strong with increased
numbers of students coming to us from across the wider Eastern area.
For next year we expect these numbers to increase further and to accommodate this have
been working to ensure bus routes are extended and modified to provide safe and easy
transport from most parts of eastern Christchurch to the Chisnallwood gate.
Our enrolment scheme is also set at such a level that we believe anyone who wishes to
enrol will be able to do so, however we do encourage you to get applications to us as soon
For those of you who missed our Open Night I am very happy to meet with you individually
to discuss how Chisnallwood can meet your needs and suggest you contact the office to
make a time at your convenience.
Chisnallwood is established along the Middle School/Junior High School model and
