SCHOOL OPEN DAYS 2013
The evening begins in the gymnasium at 5pm, with an
address from the Acting Principal, Mary-Jeanne Lynch,
and student representatives. A tour of the school follows,
with the opportunity to talk to teachers and students.
We look forward to welcoming all prospective
students and families for 2014.

principal Sue Hume says a girls-only
learning environment is special and

Hume says Avonside Girls' High
School is often able to focus its
curriculum on issues of interest

Hume says it is a privilege
working with staff who are so
committed to getting the best from
the girls, and she is often given
reason to feel very proud of staff
''We want every girl to be the

However, it is also important to us
that when our girls leave, they're
able to take their place in the world
and be responsible, contributing
and caring members of our society,''
she says. ''That's why, in addition to

Hume says students are expected
to become involved not just in
classroom learning, but also in the
many sporting and cultural
opportunities on offer.
