Trio of expertise
At the close of a busy day many people look forward to
easing stress with some quality sofa time.
They turn on the telly to check out the latest
McDreamy running rampant through hospitals, up
firemen's ladders or thundering across a field after a
stitched-up piece of leather.
When this eagerly awaited relaxation is rudely
interrupted by a quizillion pixels going haywire on
screen, strangled-sounding dialogue and enticing but
intermittent flashes of clear sound and picture, blood
pressure can rise.
Once the entire household has offered their aerial
adjustment skills to no avail, it really is time to call
The TV Service Centre is led by three of them. Nick
Elder, Colin Robinson and Glenn Fisher are all qualified
TV service technicians.

Big pictures: Expert TV technician Glenn Fisher resolves issues on a massive television screen.
They started their businesses through buying a servicing company back in 1995
and when Tisco closed its doors three years ago, the TV Service Centre also
became the authorised Tisco representative, making it the largest TV repair
company in the city.
The collaboration has worked out well for the trio and now their company has
grown to a staff of eight.
The Freeview rollout has kept the team busy and Nick says they are well set up with
mobile technicians to fix most TV problems quickly.
"We can pretty much tell the scale of the issue and the steps required to improve
reception over the phone and, if needed, one of our technicians can visit to repair or
replace your aerial," says Nick.
The company sells a wide range of aerial equipment and kitsets from its Brougham
St service centre. "It's easy to get a park out front and we're just a couple of
hundred metres east of Colombo St," says Nick.
Along with television and aerial work, the company also services home-theatre
systems including repairs of VCRs, DVDs, data projectors, compact disc players and
remote controls, as well as microwave ovens. They repair most brands both in and
out of the manufacturer's warranty.
